Mark Schultz and Us


Just got back from the Mark Schultz concert here in my hometown. My band, Subject to Change, had the privilege of warming up for him. The picture above is us on the concert stage. That's me on the far right. (Click it to get a larger image.)

He's a witty guy, that Mark Schultz, and one heckuva songwriter.

One day while going through some old trunks in his grandmother's attic, he discovered her diary, along with a bunch of letters his grandfather had written to her from World War II. They inspired a song called "Letters from War." Perhaps you've heard of it.

The Army heard it and asked Mark to make a video they could use to encourage the soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. And that's how the Pentagon came to underwrite the following video:
